Lack of Employment

Continuing to eliminate restrictions and expand opportunities to living-wage jobs for ex-offenders is essential for successful reintegration. Allowing applicants to expunge their criminal history after a set period of time is very important.  Developing both training and resources in locations where people are eligible and available is important in improving the ability of ex-offenders to achieve self-sufficiency.  To read more about the recommendations of the Illinois Legislative Task Force on Employment for Persons with Past Criminal Convictions, click here.
